About

Birch & Byte is two people in Helsinki. We started in 2019 after a decade of working on other people's systems.

We kept seeing the same thing: a company buys a large platform, uses a fifth of it, and pays an integrator to bridge the gaps. Most of those gaps are small. A form, a report, a scheduled job, a page that shows the right number. That is the work we like.

Who we are

Mikko writes the backend and the deployment scripts. Fifteen years of Python, PostgreSQL and an unreasonable fondness for boring infrastructure.

Anna writes the frontend and talks to clients. Ten years of product work, mostly in logistics and accounting software.

How we work

• We take two projects at a time.
• We do not subcontract and we do not resell licences.
• Everything runs in your accounts: your repository, your cloud, your domain.
• We write things down. A handover without documentation is not a handover.
